Part Three
"You have to the count of five Nolan and then the young abomination gets it," Claw said as he bent over Junior.
"Five."
As Claw had been speaking my mind raced as I weighed my options and their possible consequences. While I didn't know what they wanted the information I had for, my previous experiences with the Sacred Blood left me with some nasty suspcions especially as I recognised some of the SBs in the background as being part of the Collins gang. That particular gang had a highly explosive way of comitting bank robberies.
"Three."
Lives were at stake anyway I acted. The question was how many would be at risk if I talked. Could I risk so many innocent lives just for Junior especially as once I talked then neither he nor his father were of any further use to Claw and his thugs.
"One."
"Alright I'll talk," I said. I knew that I may be putting lives at risk by talking but I definately would be endangering Junior's by not talking. Would always outweighed might.
Claw turned off the drill and returned it to its place on the toolbench. The silence was suddenly shattered by the sound of him laughing. to me it was a mockery of joy that cut right through me.
"So nauseatingly and predictably noble Nolan. You've saved one life at the cost of the lives of an entire town."
"Not yet I haven't there's still time for me to save everyone and stop you."
His smirk chilled me to the depths of my soul. "Time is running out for both you and the heretics you seek to protect. Especially these two. I don't know much about Toon anatomny but I do know serious trauma when I see it. These two should survive their injuries from that car crash with appropriate medical treatment. Without it, well watch Nolan watch carefully. But first talk."

"What do you mean someone's been transported to another universe?" Lola asked The Doctor.
"Exactly that. This isn't the only universe there are countless others. For example how did you and Bugs first meet?"
Lola took a deep breath as she thought back to that fateful day. Her life, and Bugs had changed so much that day.
"There was a group of aliens from an intergalatic theme park that came to Earth to try and take the Looney Tunes prisoner so they could force us to be their newest attraction. Bugs challenged them to a basketball match for our freedom and I tried out for the team," she laughed softly to herself. "Good thing that I did because the rest of them aren't exactly NBA calibre. Why do you ask?"
"What if you hadn't done that, or if Bugs had challenged them to say a chess game, would you two have still met? In another universe you didn't try out for the team, or you weren't picked and so on."
"Can you travel to this other universe Doctor?"
"In time yes. After all TARDIS is short for Time And Relative Dimension In Space, the old girl will plot the way there and back and I'll manually take us to pick up everyone else who merely got scattered through time and space. Then once I find who is behind all this that person is going to be in a whole world of trouble."
Lola looked at him curiously, "You seem almost personally offended by this?"
"Bugs is a good friend of mine. Not to mention the fact that timescoops are outlawed tecnology. Be warned though Lola this is going to be dangerous. Whoever is responsible for this was neither subtle or really knew what they were doing. A timetot could follow this trail, I rather suspect that someone wanted to get my attention. At the very least they wanted me chasing after all your friends."
Lola regarded him critically. "When me and Bugs were chasing after you when you were running for the Tardis the first time he told me that whenever stuff like this happens then the safest place is whereever you are. Or the most dangerous. What did he mean?"
"This is a unverse full of wonders Lola. Of beautiful marvels that you can barely comprehend, of Lola's and Bugs. Of cream tea's and jellybabies, of cricket and basketball. Of a night that you never forget and a perfect day that ends with a sunset so beautiful that it could only have been painted across the sky by God himself for you and you alone."
The Doctor's expression went from one of happiness to one of weary sadness.
"But there are dark corners to the universe. These have bred the darkest horrors, creatures of evil that wish only to dominate and destroy. And evil must be fought."
He laid a hand on her shoulder gently. "That's what Bugs meant so once again you can wait here in the Looniversity if you want too."
Lola shook her head. "No I'd just worry about everyone. This way even though it may not be much but I can still help in some way."
The Doctor smiled, his demeanour going from downbeat to happy in an instant. "Attagirl and I'm sure you can do plenty," he said as he bent over the console once more.
"Right then we'll pick up the one's who have just gone forwards and backwards in time spatially first. Then the ones who have been moved in time and space and whoever was sent into the universe next door last."
Lola giggled at his attempt to lighten the mood.
He looked up from the console and smiled gently as the time rotor in the middle of the console began to rise and fall steadily the grating groanning noise of the materialisation/dematerialsation sequence filling the room.

Calamity looked at Wile E, "You mean to say that it actually worked Mr Coyote sir?"
"Not in the way that I intended Calamity but yes I think so," Wile E said excitedly. "Do you know what this means?"
"Mr Coyote?"
"Yes Calamity?"
"How do we get home?"

Babs groaned as she slowly came around, her hands massaging her head gently.
"Are vous okai mon ami?"
"Asides from having having my entire family rocking out in my head I'm alright," Babs replied as fifi helped her into a sitting position.
"What happened?"
"I don't know. Last ting I remember vous and Shirley were greeting your amours in zee Veenie Burghah. Daffy, Foghorn and Porky had just come in and zhen zere was this bright blanc light zhen." Fifi shrugged then gestured around them with her arms.
Babs looked around. She and her friends were in a large white room. It was utterly featureless and unfurnished. Both Buster and Plucky were still uncouncious and Shirley was sat in between them, obviously watching over them to see how they were.
Babs frowned "Where are?"
Fifi shrugged again. "I don't know. Moi came round first mon ami to find moiself here with vous, Shirley et les boys. But of our teachers there was no sign."

"Would you like a cup of tea Lola?"
Lola looked up with a start from the book she had picked up from the side of the chair she had sat down in as The Doctor came up besides her unexpectedly.
He smiled apolegetically. "Sorry I startled you. Conan Doyle was one of my favourite authors too, it's quite easy to loose yourself in his work."
"Actually I prefered the TV series and films, I've never really read any of the Sherlock Holmes stories. But yes I would like a cup of tea thank you."
"How do you drink it?"
"No milk and a slice of lemon."
The Doctor wandered off into the depths of the Tardis nodding approvingly, "She has good taste," he said quietly. "Yes I can see why Bugs likes her so much as well," she just about heard him say apparently to noone in particular causing her to blush slightly as she hid her face behind the book.
A couple of minutes later he reappeared, a large teatray with a teapot, two cups on saucers, a small bowl containg slices of lemon and limes and a plate of biscuits on it.
"We should just about have time for a nice cp of tea before we arrive," The Doctor said as he put the tray on a table next to Lola's chair and poured the two of them a cup each. "How many slices?"
"Just one please."
He dropped a slice into her tea before handing it to her then adding a slice of lime to his own.
Lola suddenly laughed as he sat down in the chair across from her's.
"What's so funny?"
"This whole situation. I'm sitting with an alien in a time machine that looks like a British police box. That is also bigger on the inside than the outside while we wait to go rescue my boyfriend and who knows who else after they've been scattered through time and space and I'm sat here having a cup of tea as if it's the most normal thing in the world."
He took a sip of his tea before replying. "Well normal is relative. After all you are a Looney Tune aren't you?"
"We didn't come up with that name, Warners did when some of us began acting for them back in the thirties. This is nice tea."
"Thank you. Next time try it with lime, it has a zestiness that is quite refreshing Lola," The Doctor said. As they finished their tea the time rotor slowed and the materialisation sequence began. "A second cup will have to wait," He said as he walked over to the console. "We're about to land in Acme Acres in 1988. You didn't live here then did you?"
"No I was in San Diego back then."
"That's one less thing to worry about. Oh," The Doctor said in surprise as somethin emergered from the Tardis console where Lola was standing with a squawking sound.
"What is that?"
"Proof I'm not the only one glad you came along."
"What do you mean?"
"If you know everyone whose dissappeared then they'll probably be more likely to listen to you than to me. Go on take it it's for you."
Lola took the slim metal rod from the console. It resembled a torch with three metal bands on top of each other, the top one being slightly thicker and with a narrow strip on one side of the middle section. Lola pressed a button on it and it emitted a light the same pale blue colour as her eyes. It felt less like a tool and more like an extension of herself as if it had been made just for her and her alone.
"What is it?"
"Your very own sonic screwdriver."

"You've been very helpful Nolan, I thank you I really do," Claw said as I finished speaking. "Don't hate me Nolan," he said as I gave him a glare that would freeze lava. "After all soon I shall end the suffering of you and your heretical friends, give you the peace of death. As a reward for your cooperation I shall allow these two abominations.."
"Their names are Sylvester and Sylvester Junior," I spat.
He ignored me. "As I was saying I shall allow these two abominations to live. As they are."
"You evil sick son of a<" Claw slapped me viciously in the face.
"Language Nolan after all there is a child present. Anyway this time tomorrw the three of you shall all be dead."
"Let me guess another bomb. A series of bombs to eliminate the civic and Police leaders of Toontown and spread terror and confusion followed by one final massive Erassure bomb." I stopped talking, I could tell from his reaction that this waas the plan.
Claw smiled, the kind of grin only the truely insane can make. "Indeed now watch as we mak a better world Nolan," he said as a monitor was brought in. "We have hacked the security cameras all across Toontown. You have a front row seat for the dawn of our glorious new order. Once our holy fire has cleansed the earth of the abominations I shall return and deal with you personally."
It was half ten at night and the first bomb would go off in nine hours time when Mayor N Competent reached his office, the second half an hour later when Crusher reached his office. My only consolation was that neither would actually be in their officees for the usual time. Ironically the three of us had arranged a meeting at my office for seven tomorrow morning to discuss the threat Sacred Blood posed following mine and the Tunes last run in with them.
I heard Claw barking orders outside. "You two the rest of us are about to leave. You are to watch Nolan. If he attempts to escape shoot him in the knees and then kill the two abominations."
"Yes sir."
My head fell forward. The situation seemed hopeless, and as it always did whenever I failed my mind flashed back to my greatest failure. The John Doe who was gunned down on new years eve 1999.

Wile E opened and closed his mouth several times before he finally managed to speak. "AH yes I hadn't really thought about that lad." Before he could say anything else the two of them heard the disinctive sound of the Tardis materialising.
"Wile E, Calamity you're alright," Lola said as she and The Doctor stepped out.
"Lola, how did you get here?"
"I brought her in my Tardis. Is Bugs with you two?" The Doctor asked as he ran his sonic screwdriver across them. Both it and Lola's made a high whistleing sound as he did so.
"No it's just the two of us here," Calamity said as he and Wile E looked at the screwdrivers curiously.
"Who are you sir and what is that?" Wile E asked.
"I am The Doctor and this is my sonic screwdriver, and whereever else he may be Bugs is most definately not here. The residual energy signature of the timescoop is only present on the two of you."
"Is that what this sound means?" Lola asked.
"Yes, now you know what it means we can split up when we reach our next destination. Everyone into the Tardis," he said opening the door.
"Lola what's going on?"
"I'll explain everything once we get inside Wile E," she said as she reached the door.
"It's going to be a what the fu.." Wile E began as he stepped into the Tardis.

"Babs I had the strangest dream," Buster said as he opened his to see Babs leaning over him. "And you were in it and so was Plucky and Bugs and Lola and and and," his voice trailed off as he took in his surroundings. "That was no dream was it?"
She shook her head, "No and before you ask none of us know what happened or where we are."
"Where are the teachers?" he asked as Babs helped him into a sitting postion.
"We don't know," she said as she sat down next to him and laid her head on his shoulder. "I'm scared Buster."
He put his arm around her shoulder, "Me too Babs me too."
"You're braver than I am Buster, I'm terrified," Plucky said.
"My hero," Shirley said as she squeezed his hand tightly. He squeezed it back and smiled at her "You think this is a job for the Toxic Revenger?"
"Moi thinks it's a job for Batduck. Or Zuperbabs and Zuperbun," Fifi said causing them all to laugh."
"I vote for Scentana, Fifi," Babs said to more laughter before they all fell silent again.
"Shirley?" Fifi asked suddenly.
"Yes?"
"Dey played it up on the show I know but vous es psychic non?"
"A little. Why?"
"Then could you try and snes if there is anyone besides us nearby?"
Everyone looked at them with why didn't we think of that expressions.
Shirley nodded. "I'll give it a try," she said but I need you all to be quiet so I can concentrate."

"Enjoying the show heathen?" one of the guards asked sarcastically.
"Not really, the plot is pedestrian, charcterisation is basic and the soundtrack leaves a lot to be desired," I said as nonchalently as I could.
"Mock while you can heretic but our day is coming," the other guard said.
I didn't reply, my mind still stuck on that case back in 1999 when I was a detective in San Fransisco. John Doe, we never could identify him had been gunned down in the crossfire of a gang shootout and died on the operating table. The worst thing was after he died his body was stolen and never recovered. We never found his killers or who stole his body. We could never give the peace of a funeral to his family, or the justice of his killers going to prison. I had failed him. Failed my duty as a police officer.
My eyes fell on Sylvester and his son. I would not, could not fail them as I had him. I thought the problem facing me through. My guards wern't as dumb as the average SB was but they still weren't MENSA members. A plan began to form, I just needed to get rid of one of them, all the time Claw had been talking with me and then beating me I had been loosening my bonds and I still had a couple of surprises in my coat pockets I could use.
Satisfied that my plan was the best I could come up with in the time I had I began to put it into action.
"Rather than both of you guarding me in here shouldn't one of you be outside patrolling, after all what if the rest of my friends are looking for me."
The Doctor and Lola start their search for the missing while the Tiny Toons find themselves in a mysterious room. Meanwhile Jack Nolan discovers the SacredBloods evil plan but time is against him.
